West Sacramento, CA, USA
Portland Bolt was contacted in the spring of 2014 to provide the specialty fasteners for a timber structure that would be built in West Sacramento, CA named “The BARN.” Located in West Sacramento’s Bridge District, The BARN would be an architectural landmark offering a venue for food and events on the city’s riverfront.
In the summer of 2015, Portland Bolt shipped over 500 different lengths of hot-dip galvanized steel tie rods ranging from 3’ to 22’ in length. Due to the custom design of the structure all of the rods shipped to The BARN were different lengths. Each rod that Portland Bolt manufactured shipped with a clevis assembled on each end. Assembly of the clevises to the rod helps ensure there will be no thread fit issues at the job site. In addition to the 500 tie rod assemblies, Portland Bolt also shipped over 2,500 hot-dip galvanized hex lag screws to The Barn.
The BARN opened to the public in August of 2016. It is expected to be one of many development projects for West Sacramento’s Bridge District riverfront revitalization.
