William Tebeau Hall

With student enrollment continuing to rise to record levels, Oregon State University needed more housing units for the burgeoning student population. In 2013, ground was broken on a new $28 million, 85,000 square foot residence hall. Portland Bolt worked with the wall panel contractor on the project to provide the bolts and fasteners required to erect the five story structure. From the high strength all thread rods used to anchor the wall sections, to the custom structural bolts with extended thread lengths used to tie together the sections from floor to floor, to the nearly 5,000 standard structural bolts used to fasten it all together, Portland Bolt provided what was needed to ensure that the job remained on schedule.

Completed in early 2014, the new residence hall was named William Tebeau Hall in honor of the first male African American graduate of Oregon State University.  Composed of three bedroom suites with shared bathrooms, Tebeau Hall will house 324 students. The residence hall (OSU’s 15th) was built with environmentally friendly features that earned it a LEED silver rating for sustainability.
