How is a Square Machine Bolt Made?
Square machine bolts, also referred to as crossarm bolts, square head machine bolts, or simply machine bolts, are the most commonly used bolts in wood pole overhead line construction. These bolts typically fasten wooden crossarms to utility poles.
There are dozens of products in the pole line industry, such as insulators, grounding products, and deadline hardware., which Portland Bolt does not provide. Instead, we choose to focus on the specialized bolts and fasteners involved in the pole line industry.

Bishop Road Bridge

In January of 2013, Portland Bolt supplied shear plates, split rings, long (138″) galvanized threaded rods, hex bolts, lag screws, and lock nuts for the Bishop Road Bridge project in Portneuf, Quebec. Our 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility complete with hot-dip galvanizing line has the capability to ship custom fasteners to eastern Canada quickly and competitively. Read more.
How often does Portland Bolt ship to Canada? In 2012, we shipped 268 orders to Canada, and in 2011, we shipped 271 orders.
