Tie Rod Assembly Manufacturing

A tie rod assembly is used to brace steel columns and heavy timber beams or used to support canopies and awnings. Tie rods are often used with clevises and/or turnbuckles. Our Tie Rod Calculator will quickly determine rod lengths when given the overall pin-to-pin dimensions of a tie rod assembly.

Portland Bolt’s 137,0000-square-foot manufacturing facility and galvanizing line are set up to thread any tie rod length. Clevises and turnbuckles are assembled to the tie rods before shipping to ensure a proper fit. Attachment plates can also be included with your order when a detailed drawing is submitted.

How is a Tie Rod Assembly Measured?

The length of a tie rod assembly is typically measured from pin to pin, which is the centerline of the pin of one clevis to the centerline of the pin of the opposing clevis. However, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Construction plans are often drawn with this pin-to-pin dimension, and determining the actual rod lengths is the detailer’s responsibility. We have made this easy with our Tie Rod Length Calculator.
