2024 – A Look Ahead

47,000-Square-Foot Expansion
We are growing! A plan to add 47,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space will commence in April. The addition will result in a total of 141,000 square feet, nine dock doors, and an acre of outdoor storage. This will coincide with the addition of new products and manufacturing capabilities. New Leadership for 2024
2023 brought about a complete leadership change at Portland Bolt. CEO Blake Ray and VP of Operations Todd McGurk were both hired in 2023 and bring a combined 33 years of leadership and manufacturing expertise which they honed at Precision Castparts. CFO Geoff Hankerson was also hired in 2023 after 12 years with ESCO Corporation where he held several finance and business-related roles.

2024 will bring about a renewed focus on industry-best lead times and the ability to rush orders through our system with lead times based on your delivery requirements.

In 2023, our sales team added 14 project summaries to the 404 total projects featured on our website. These featured projects contain a description of the project, its location, a summary of the bolts we manufactured for the project, and photographs from before, during, or after construction.

In addition to our flagship website, www.portlandbolt.com, Portland Bolt operates 19 specialized websites. Each website has been created and is managed by one of our 14 salespeople. Each salesperson possesses expertise centered around the specialized content these diverse sites contain.
In 2024, we intend to launch microsites covering the A449 specification, the F593 specification, the F3125 specification, galvanized bolts, and swedged anchor rods.

In 2023, Portland Bolt made 10,129 separate shipments of anchor bolts and construction fasteners to all corners of the earth. Our interactive Shipment Destination Map will show you them all.

Our strong internet presence and our outstanding reputation have worked together to expand our global reach and allowed us to evolve from a regional supplier into a worldwide manufacturer of anchor bolts and construction fasteners. In 2023, Portland Bolt shipped a total of 73 international orders (excluding Canada) destined for 28 different countries!

2023 provided us with an opportunity to partner with 3,143 unique companies spanning a variety of different industries and covering the entire globe.

The initial reaction of many prospective customers is that our location in Portland, Oregon must limit our ability to participate in projects in the eastern part of the country. Fortunately, these numbers demonstrate otherwise. In 2023, on 2,040 occasions, East Coast companies chose Portland Bolt to supply fasteners due to a combination of our outstanding service, superb quality, fast delivery, and competitive price. These statistics clearly demonstrate that no project is too far away for Portland Bolt to be considered for the project.

In 2023, Portland Bolt shipped to 12 Canadian provinces and territories and averaged shipping almost seven orders per week to Canada. We continue to overcome the challenges of customs clearance and an unfavorable exchange rate, proving to be a viable option on Canadian projects requiring large, nonstandard bolts.

Steve Beauchamp Retires
After 44 years of dedicated service as both a lead headerman and a cut threading operator for Portland Bolt, Steve Beauchamp threaded his final bolt on December 29th. Steve’s skills and experience will be missed.
Steve and his wife have extensive travel plans to visit some local destinations in the Pacific Northwest. At the top of the list is Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Safe travels, Steve, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
