LAX Theme Building

LAX Theme Building

Originally built in 1961, the restaurant and observation deck has been likened to “The Jetsons” with its futuristic design, although the show debuted a year later.  In 2009, This iconic Los Angeles International Airport building underwent renovation and shoring up of its roof after a 1,000 pound slab of stucco fell from the arches almost hitting the restaurant.  Portland Bolt was called on to provide custom rolled 17+ foot A193 grade B8M Class 2 strain hardened rods.  With our 100 years of industry knowledge, we were able to quote and deliver these special length, high strength stainless steel rods.  Each of the 60 rods had to have special mark numbers for quick and easy identification on the job site which is a value added service that Portland Bolt’s shipping department routinely provides.
